CARTOMAP CAD App Reviews

Very disappointed! Get the free AutoCad ws instead!

Ive never owned an app as worthless as this one! For that price I had expected a lot more. But the biggest problem is the constant crashes and you wont be able to see every detail in your .dwg files. Get the free AutoCad ws instead, its not perfect, but much better and free!

Silly program

Dont but I download and hang with me the program if u want to buy professional program you have to take from good people like auto desk not from non professional one Please autodesk we are waiting for your auto cad not for silly cad like this one

Great basic CAD

This is the best basic CAD program for the iPad. I have previously tried all the others I could find in the AppStore, but only this one comes close to my everyday PC CAD program -Intergraph Smartsketch. While at my workplace AutoCAD is the standard and I have training in it, Ive always found Smartsketch better for quick simple things like floor plans. I took a chance with Cartomap CAD since it was $20 and had no reviews... but what a lucky strike! After about 30 minutes of playing around with it and not really looking at any instructions, I was productively making a plan of my bathroom remodel. While it takes some getting used to, most of the major features are there and work well. The import feature leaves something to desire, which was originally what i was looking for, but there isnt a program Ive used so far on PC that can accurately import. My problem was I could not get a pre- made drawing to come in at the right scale, so none of the new work on the drawing in the program would be at the originals scale. When making original drawings, this program is very intuitive, and the closest thing Ive found to the aforementioned Smartsketch. Especially handy is the snap function that lets you accurately pick points. The only two problems so far (Im sure Ill find more with use) are : 1) I cant see how to print from the program. You can send a file via email, but it is still a dwg, dxf, or native format so unless you have another program that can print these formats (from the iPad) then you are stuck sending to a PC to print or doing a screen cap and printing as a photo from the iPad. 2) There is no area fill hatch function, so I cant show different materials or areas Id otherwise want to highlight. Overall, I think future updates can only improve this great program.

Not what I wanted

I wanted a cad tool for designing simple things to build in the workshop. It doesnt seem to have a way to do basic things like draw a 36" line. You can draw a line or a rectangle, but you have no idea of the size until you go measure bit later. Very disappointing, and way overpriced.

Worthless

Big promises but no substance. So far I have only managed to draw about twenty lines and then menu disappears and you cant do anything, not even start a new drawing because you dont have a menu. Wasted 20 dollars.

not worth the money spent

Another one of those apps that I wish I could get a refund. Very basic CAD and hard to navigate. I was hoping that the bad ratings were not true, but alas I found out the $$$ way. I only wished Apple would have a policy to force developers to issue trial versions instead of having to pay this amount to find out its bad.

It is fine, if only it would export

I have had this app for about half of a year now and it still wont allow me to export the document that I work on. It starts to load on the dropbox feature, however it never finishes. I cannot export it to my iTunes either, because it will not recognize that the files exist. They do exist though and once you use the instructions manual it is not that hard to use. If it would export I would give it a higher score, but for now I am being a little generous as exporting is kind of the most important feature to me right now.

Update this app

A whole year, and not a single update despite our many reviews calling out for this. Its like telling us to go fall off a cliff or something. The user interface could have created by a self-absorbed recluse who couldnt bother any less if it were understood or not. Again, your help files are inaccessible. For a paid app, this was a great faux pas for me.

Piece of crap

What a piece of crap! Crashes before I make 2 commands! Crashes when I try to open an existing document! REFUND!!!

Crashes

Cannot edit for more than a minute before it crashes.

It was fine before iOS 7.0.2

Very good!!!!! Thank You
